Common questions

About buying, renting and using this site.

Buying

Can foreigners buy property in Chiang Mai?

Yes, a condo unit can be owned outright, as long as foreign owners hold no more than 49% of the building's total unit area. Land can't be owned by a foreigner directly; the usual options are a lease of up to 30 years or choosing a condo instead. The rules depend on the property, so ask us about the one you're interested in.

Renting

Are rental prices per month?

Yes, every rental price on the site is per month. Ask us about the deposit and contract length for the place you like.

What do I need to rent a place?

Usually a copy of your passport, a security deposit (often two months' rent) and the first month's rent. The exact terms depend on the landlord, so we'll confirm them for the property you choose.

Using the site

How do I arrange a viewing?

Send us the listing code on LINE or give us a call, and we'll find a time that suits you.

What is the listing code for?

Every listing has a code, such as CME-0012. Include it when you message us and we'll know straight away which property you mean.

Does it cost anything to ask about a listing?

No. Asking about a listing on LINE or by phone is free.
