Hang Dong
Gated estates and pool villas south of the city.
Hang Dong is a district south of Chiang Mai along Route 108, the road towards Hot and Chom Thong. Many of the area's gated housing estates and pool villas are here, on bigger plots than you'll find in town, with views west towards the hills.
Ban Tawai, the woodcarving village, is in Hang Dong, and the Chiang Mai Night Safari is on the north side of the district.
